Show Us Your Life - Fall decorations

**I actually did this post several weeks ago because I couldn't resist seeing so many other blogs post about their fall decorations.  So I went back and updated it a little with some of my more recent fall decorations for Kelly's Korner SHOW US YOUR LIFE - Fall Decorations.  Hope you enjoy!

I am not into Ghost, Gobblins, Skelatons, and such for my halloween decor. I am not the spooky halloween kind of mom, I enjoy decorating with halloween cats, pumkins, mums, etc. a little more of the classic fall decor then the spooky halloween stuff.  There are a few things that slip by, such as the small ghost on my boys bedroom door, but not much else.

So here is the beginning of my fall decor with MORE to come:

I love the smell of pumpkin spice, so I bought some new candles for my Cathedral Luminary and Barley Twist Pedistal from Southern Living at HOME.  The luminary looks so beautiful lite up at night with the candel light spilling out from the cathedral windows.

I use this adorable tray to take meals to friends or carry food upstairs when we eat at Mom and Dad's part of the house.  I love decorating it for the differnt holiday's and seasons.
I bought this cute frame with scripture from Etsy shop Best NesstAll I did was change out the ribbon with some cobweb halloween ribbon that I picked up at Wally-World and a small ghost (cut out from another ribbon from Wally-World) attached to the picture hook, and hang it from my boys bedroom door.

I bought this cute runner from Pottery Barn last year when it was on sale.

Picked up this really cute cauldron at TarJ'ay (aka Target) last year in their after halloween sale for $12 and when the boys and I went pumpkin pickin we also picked up some great mums.  This one is on the landing that leads up to my parents part of the house OR down to our part, which ever way you want to look at it ;-)

Outdoor Decorations and Pumpkin Picken:

Davey picks his pumpkin right away

JonJon finally picks his (he kept picking different ones and putting them back.
The flower bed at the top of the sidewalk leading to our part of the house.

I need to weed and put down new pine straw, but this is a halloween grapevine cat I picked up at TarJ'ay last year at their after Halloween sale for $9.99 (it has orange lights on it).

Inspiration for more fall decorating ideas:

These photos are serving as inspiration for what I want to do with my entrance and pumpkins this year.  I saw this at the Southern Living website, I also really loved their sidewalk lined with pumpkins carved like this, but I am not sure I have the energy for carving that many pumpkins LOL we will see.

Finally
Treat bag and cups for the boys Halloween parties at preschool.  The felt embroidered bags were $1 for 2 so I got 3 different sets for Jonathan's class of 6 kids.  Then for Davey's class I got the halloween cups, which were $1 for 5 cups, so I got two different designs enough for 20 kids.  I still have to pick up small candies, pencils, and play-doh for each bag and cup, but I am getting a head start.

So Have you started your fall decorating and what has been your design inspiration this season?

  1. I think the fall touches you added throughout the house are lovely! Just adding fall colors in each room really makes that fall feeling just flow through the house. I love the pumpkin picken pictures! Too sweet! I really like the pumpkin with the falling leaves cut out. How cute is that? Thanks so much for sharing! -April
