This weekend we took a wonderful family trip to the Asheboro Zoo. We took Davey for his 2nd birthday two years ago and wanted to take Jonathan for his 2nd birthday (only we are almost 2 months late). We left on Friday and arrived in the early afternoon and explored the African part of the zoo on day 1 including the carousel. For both of the boys their favortie part seemed to be the giraffe and zebra exibit.
The weather held out nicely for us and we had a wonderful time exploring all the animals of the African exhibits. Jonathan was a bit cranky at times only because he wanted to get out and run more without the harnes, but every time we tried that he ran for areas where he wasn't supposed to go. SOO to keep him safe and us more peace of mind, his choices were the stroller or the walking harness. I actually HATE the harness, but when you have a NO FEAR child like Jon, you do what you have to in order to keep them safe.
We finished off the day with KFC in the hotel room and then a long swim in the hotel indoor pool.
Such a blessed day as a family, it is so wonderful to get away together without the normal routine of home. (more pictures of Day 2 to come)
