26 Children's Christmas Books in 25 Days - Day #3

Today in Day #3 of 26 Children's Christmas Books in 25 Days my 2 little Boys are reading How Santa Got His Job by Stephen Krensky, Illustrated by S.D. Schindler.

How Santa Got His Job is a humerous look at Santa's life as a young man trying to find the right job that he would love doing.  This fun book has wonderful illustrations that are funny and filled with details for children to explore.  Santa looks through the classified and tries working as a Chimney Sweep, Postman, Cook, Animal keeper at the Zoo , and Cannon act at the Circus, but there is always a problem with the job.  It is hilarious following the twists and turns in Santa's career path that lead to the ultimate job that we all know and love him for.  It is shortly after being fired by the Ringmaster at the Circus, when some elves come to Santa for his autograph and invite him home for supper that the book turns toward the path of Santa becoming SANTA CLAUS.

You and your kids will love reading this book.  How Santa Got His Job doesn't take anything away from the wonderful stories we all know and gew up on about Santa.  This funny little book just adds to the background of how Santa got to be the man we all love at Christmas season.  From a teacher or homeschooler's persepective, this book would be great for older kids, for them to do a book report about finding the right career.  My 2 little Boys picked up this great book at our local library, but you can also still buy this book through sources like Amazon.com.  Have fun reading, and come back tomorrow for book #4 in our tour of 26 Children's Christmas Books in 25 Days!
