26 Children's Christmas Books in 25 Days - Day #17

LOVE LOVE LOVE this books by Roger Brooke, illustrated by Elizabeth J. Miles, Santa's Christmas Journey.  My 2 little Boys really enjoyed this book that we checked out form our local library, the images, and the story in rhyme was a total delight to them both.

This is the story told from Santa's perspective, on some of the tricks of how he and his reindeer make it around the world delivering Christmas presents on Christmas Eve.  The wonderful thing is that as Santa tells of his journey, he reveals enough about the magic without revealing ALL of the magic, leaving some to the imagination of little readers.  Santa tells of his secret trick of getting into houses, down fat chimneys, skinny chimneys, houses without chimneys squeezing himself through a keyhole and into a hall.  Santa tells how he manages to pack all the toys, with the bright colored packaging, boxes, and bowes, all in the pack by making them small.  This truly is a delightful story with some of Santa's humor woven in even adults will love learing about some of Santas tricks of the trade.

This will be a great book for you and your children to checkout at the library.  Santa's Christmas Journey is still available on Amazon but listed from second hand sellers.  I hope you will enjoy this book as much as we did.
