Show Us Your Life - Christmas Cookies and Treats

Today over at Kelly's Korner it is Show Us Your Life - Christmas Cookies and Treats.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE this time of year, getting into the kitchen with my husband and eldest son Davey who is now old enough to help sometimes, and making our Christmas treat tins to share with our Deacon Families at church and our neighbors.  What we like to do is start mid November with baking our treats and then freezing them so that we are not overwhelmed right on top of Christmas week with baking.  We general bake Snowball Cookies, Hay Stacks, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Chocolate and Regular Shortbread Cookies, and my Mom's Peanut Brittle and give each person an assorted tin of everything.

Our Christmas Gift tins for this year (got 10 of these for .50 each last year at an after Christmas Sale)

So the recipe my 2 little Boys and I are sharing today is our Snowball Cookies, I hope you enjoy, this is easy and very kid friendly (and you know with 2 little Boys I have to have KID friendly).

SNOWBALL COOKIES

1 lb. butter
1/2 c. sugar
4 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. chopped nuts
3/4 c. confectioners' sugar

Cream butter and sugar in bowl
Add vanilla
Stir in flour, blending well
Shape teaspoonful dough into balls
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes
Cool
Roll in confectioners' sugar

I sure hope you have fun making these cookies.  Hope on over to Kelly's Korner and see some other Cookie and Treat ideas.

God's Blessings to you and yours in the kitchen this Christmas Season!
