Interview with O.C. Styles 100 followers Celebration Giveaway #1 starts March 1st

Tomorrow kicks off our one month Celebration of 100 Followers and I would like to introduce you to our first giveaway sponsor O.C.Styles.  I love when someone uses their talents to produce something beautiful and functional, and at Etsy you can find many designers of handmade products.  I was first introduced to O.C. Styles through one of my blogging friends (Mellissa over a Getting all my Ducks in a Row) when she had a giveaway during the holidays last year.  O.C. Styles makes handmade Accessories & Purses, and for our first giveaway O.C. Styles is donating a Java Bling to one of my lucky winners.

This giveaway will run from tomorrow March 1st - 7th
the winner will be announced on March 8th

So without further ado please meet shop owner:
Michelle Bousley

How did you get started on Etsy?
I saw Etsy in many of the searches that I had looked for online & stumbled upon them. I noticed that it was a handmade arena that I should consider & I really love it. I am so glad I decided to be a part of Etsy.

How did you decide on the name for your shop?
I live in Orange County, which is a melting pot of many styles, cultures, ideas and fashions. I was inspired by that, and decided to represent my inspiration.

Where do you get inspiration for the items in your shop?
I get inspiration from so many sources, such as fabric, the outdoors, paint colors, textures, my 4 year old daughter, my family members and just paying attention to fashion forecasts, trends & everyday items.

What item is your personal favorite?
Well, that's a bit difficult to decide, but I love making all of the items in my store, but I really love the purses, especially the pleated clutch with the kiwi bow & crystal & the Java Blingz hot drink sleeves.

Do you make custom orders? Yes, I love doing custom orders. It's one of the joys of my job & of being on Etsy. I really connect with my customers & can help them in a process that they may not receive in a regular retail environment.

How many years have you been creating?
I have been creating since I was a little girl, but I have been sewing since I was 15 years old, so, for a long while. I love learning a new technique and the buzz of the sewing machine. I feel so accomplished when I finish and item. It brings such joy to my day.

How long has your Etsy shop been open?
I have had an Etsy store since July, 2008.

Are you running any current promotions or coupons?
I run various promotions based on the time of year & the approaching holiday or season. Currently, I have a sale on Java Blingz a discounted price on 5 or 10 & I also have a 10 percent Bridal discount for 5 or more purchased purses and Free Shipping to USA/CANADA on Luggage Handle Grips.

What is my biggest hurdle?
I guess that would be trying to anticipate the fabric prints & designs that will sell best. I also find it challenging to keep certain fabrics available, as they are sometimes discontinued & I have no control over what prints are kept in stock by the manufacturers. Also, being able to have enough time to do all the things I want to do to in a day can be overwhelming at times, but being super organized helps to minimize that.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I would like to thank you for interviewing me & taking the time out of your busy schedule. Thank you for choosing OC STYLES, & I hope to see you in my shop very soon.
