Show Us your Life - Favorite Charities

Show Us Your Life with Kelly's Korner

Kelly's Korner is honoring your favorite charities today with Show Us your Life so that you can garner interest and attention for your favorite cause.  Here are just a few that I work with throughout the year.

Cut It OUT is a program of the Salons Against Domestic Abuse Fund dedicated to mobilizing salon professionals and others to fight the epidemic of domestic abuse in communities across the United States. CUT IT OUT builds awareness of domestic abuse and trains salon professionals to recognize warning signs and safely refer clients to local resources. My company Southern Living at HOME works hand in hand with Cut it Out to raise money and awareness.

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation is a cause that I fully support and often support through donations, I am hoping to take part in the 3-day walk for the cure that will happen in Charlotte this fall.  This past year our family has been touched in a personal way by breast cancer and fortunately so far both my sister-in-laws mother Betty and my cousin's wife Kay are winning their fights.

Since 1962, St. Jude has been a beacon of hope for children and families in their most desperate hours. And its reputation as one of the world’s premier pediatric cancer research centers is a testament to the quality of research and treatment conducted at St. Jude, as well as the compassion of millions of supporters and donors who help ensure that the beacon of hope continues to shine. Go HERE to donate.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry.  To accomplish the Christian housing ministry goal they invite people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.  Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1976 by Millard Fuller, along with his wife, Linda.  Today, they have built over 350,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1.75 million people in 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter.
