Breaking New Ground

Our Church is breaking new ground on our the first phase of our family life center
I find it interesting that God is starting this new physical phase in our church at the same time as our church is also breaking ground on a new ministry to our community and our church body.
With Awana's and the ground breaking our family too is celebrating a new breaking of ground in our life one year into our time at Tabernacle, we have finally jumped full force into the work that God has called us to be a part of.  My husband is working with the Awana's, specifically with the Cubbie's group as one of the assistants on Sunday nights and he has been asked to step into a roll that has traditionally been filled by another to prepare the funnel cakes this year at the church fall festival (he is so excited about this, he has all of his own equipment, HA).  I too have stepped up to serve, I have returned to the adult choir after taking the summer off, I am working on the Fellowship committee for our Adult II Sunday school class, and I have been asked to work on a photography/presentation thing (I am not completely sure what this will involve but I am excited about it).
I am thrilled that we are apart of this church body and that we are here at such an important part in it's history.
I pray that as God builds the foundation of our family life ministry through the physical manifestation of our Family Life Center and the vision of reaching OUT into our community to serve, that we too are building a foundation of teaching our boys to serve others and learn how God would have them to do that.
I see the children of our church and I see the future.  Are we teaching them so that they will not stray from God's word?  Are we helping them to build on His rock?

Are we teaching them to dig deep and break ground with God first so the footers of their house, their future, is in the Lord and strong to withstand even the mightiest of winds?

Are they modeling us and are we setting the right example of Christ for them?

Are we helping our children to break ground and build the right foundation for the well being of the spiritual future?

Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
Mathew 7:24
