Oh Christmas Tree Oh Christmas Tree

Head over to the Inspired Room to link up your Christmas Home Tour
We are #205 on the tour

I love our family Christmas tree in the living room, because each year when I go to put it up, I get to unwrap from tissue the beautiful memories of Christmas past with each ornament we have collected over the years.  I usually spend the first 24 hours of decorating our tree just putting on the filler of the red and green glass bulbs, along with the green pine cones and birds I got a few years ago.  I also started doing the Christmas tree topper last year with spikes of glittered red and green pine cones, glittered red leaves, and spikes of red and green balls, I think this adds a lovely whimsy to our tree matching the rest of the Christmas decor I have bought over the last several years.

I would love to have a "family" tree in the family room and a more formal tree with the colors I truly love in my living room, but we don't have space for all of that.  So for now I have my beautiful family tree filled with ornaments made by my husband and I when we were children, when we were first married, the ornaments I buy for each family member every year, and now the ornaments the boys make at school and church.  I love the memories it holds and sharing the stories with the kids each year as we put up our tree.

Here is our tree of Green and Red:

The finished tree, all I have to do is put the skirt around the bottom
The top, so cute and whimsical

Just a few more views of the tree :-)

I love laying under the tree and looking up through the lights and ornaments

What does your tree look like?  What is your favorite ornament?
