Broccoli Coleslaw Salad

A girlfriend of mine from church shared this salad recipe with our whole Sunday School class after a picnic, it was AMAZING!  The only difference between this recipe and the one she shared with us is the use of the seasoning packets from the Instant Soup OR Ramen Noodles to help flavor the crunchy topping OR dressing.

Ingredients:
1 pkg. Coleslaw
1 pkg. Broccoli Slaw
1 bunch green onions sliced thinly

1 stick of butter
1 pkg. slivered almonds
3 ounces of sunflower seeds
2 pkgs of Maruchan Instant Lunch OR 2 Ramen Noodles (broken into small pieces *set aside spice packet if using Ramen Noodles)

1 cup of sugar
1 cup of canola oil
1/3 cup vinegar
*Seasoning packets from Ramen Noodles

Mix first group together in a large bowl
Remove dried veggies from the two Maruchan Instant Lunch cups and place in large zip lock bag.  Crush Maruchan Instant Lunch with rolling pin. (I like to use the Maruchan Instant Lunch, because the seasoning is already attached to the noodles and truly flavors the salad topping)
Brown second group in frying pan (making sure not to burn, although I like mine a little dark and crunchy) and drain on cookie sheet lined with paper towel.

Whisk last group together along with 2 seasoning packets if you use Ramen Noodle bricks and when you are ready to serve mix all together.
Don't put the crunchy topping in with the salad until just before serving so it will remain crunchy.  I like to serve mine separate so that my guests/family can put on a few teaspoons of the topping just before they eat it.

Enjoy!!
