On Rachel's birthday we had a private celebration at home with my parents. It is wonderful seeing R at this stage of life where she is excited at hearing the birthday song, blowing out her candle, and tearing into her presents.
4 days later we had a family celebration, making homemade pizza, eating a large pizza cookie and once again letting R be the center of attention (although I did squeeze some on my great-niece Finelgh)
