We got SNOW {Rachel's 1st Snow}

In a day of unusual weather for Eastern North Carolina we headed out to play in the snow together as a family.  Two pairs of socks, two pairs of jeans, two shirts, gloves, hats and the warmest jackets we could put on and we were out the door and playing in the White Wonderland outside our door.  Little did we know that this beautiful wonderland would lock us in place for 4 WHOLE days with ice under the powder of snow.
This was Rachel's very first time seeing and playing in snow.

 One of my photo props came in handy LOL Old fashioned sled becomes joy for the kids.

 Gathering snow for Snow Cream

 YEAH for SNOW!!  {self portrait}

Recipe for Snow Cream:

1 cup half and half or milk (we substitute with Sweetened Condensed Milk)
    1/3 to 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to your taste)
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    4 to 6 cups clean, freshly fallen snow
Directions
  1. In a large bowl combine half and half, vanilla extract and sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved, about 3 minutes.
  2. Stir in snow, a cup at a time, until the ice cream magically forms! Freeze for several minutes if desired before serving.
