26 Children's Christmas Books in 25 Days - Day #15

Today our 2 little Boys are reading A Pussycat's Christmas by Margaret Wise Brown, illustrated by Anne Mortimer.  This book is a very untraditional Christmas story but still an easy and adorable read for children.  A Pussycat's Christmas, is just that, Christmas from a cute black and white kitty's perspective, the sights, the sounds, and the smells.  Being a home that loves cats, this book is especially fun for my boys, there isn't really a story, (which quiet frankly I missed) but a simple rhythm of the things the cat loves as Christmas approaches.

Unlike most cats, Pussycat loves the snow, she loved pouncing in it, eating it, rolling in it, and digging in it.  Pussycat loves listening to the dark snowfilled night, seeing the lights turn on all over town, and smelling the earth frozen in white.  Most of all on this dark still snowy night, Pussycat hears the jingle of bells, and sees a sleigh filled with presents fly through the sky.  Pussycat ends her beautiful night by going inside and playing with the Christmas tree while her family is away at church, listening to the carolers songs drift through the cold night, and warming herself by the fire.  Pussycat ends her Christmas Eve by falling alseep under the tree with a small package with her name on it by her side.

Sweet book that captures all the things we love about Christmas only from a cat's persepctive and beautiful images that are a delight to see.  Your children will love it!
